Helpful Tips to Help Your Child Start the New Season Strong
As we welcome a new school year at Rise Learning Center, we know that transitionsāespecially after summerācan bring big emotions, new routines, and lots of questions (from parents and children!). Whether your child is returning or joining us for the first time, weāre here to make the process smooth and joyful.
Below are a few simple tips and a handy checklist to help your family prepare for a
successful transition into the school year and the fall season.

ā Tips to Ease the Transition:
1. Talk It Up at HomeBegin talking about school in a positive and calm wayāmention friends, teachers, activities, and fun routines to build familiarity and excitement.
2. Practice the Routine Early: A few days before school starts, start waking up, eating breakfast, and getting dressed at the same time youāll need to for school. This eases the morning hustle.

3. Label Everything: From jackets to water bottles, make sure your childās belongings are clearly labeled with their name. This helps our team return lost items quickly.
4. Create a Goodbye Ritual: A special hug, phrase, or high-five can help make drop-off smooth and consistentāespecially for our littlest learners.
5. Pack for Comfort: Send your child with a familiar blanket or comfort item for nap time (if allowed), extra clothes, and any diapers or wipes needed.
6. Watch the Weather: Fall mornings can be chilly! Please dress your child in layers and send jackets or sweaters as needed.
7. Give GraceāTo Them and Yourself: The first few weeks can be a rollercoaster of emotions. Tears, clinginess, or extra sleepiness are completely normal. Weāll be there to support both you and your child every step of the way.
Weāre so excited to welcome our families back and meet our new little learners! If you have any questions before school begins, donāt hesitate to reach out. Together, letās make this season full of growth, warmth, and happy memories. Download our Back to School Checklist below!
